Today, I'd like to explain why major laser manufacturers are confident enough to promise that the lifespan of their lasers can reach 100,000 hours, which is nearly 11 years. In order to ensure the stability of the lasers, major manufacturers have invested a great deal of resources in the early stage. They have recruited a large number of professionals with high academic qualifications, such as postgraduates and doctors. These professionals form a professional R&D team dedicated to the research and development of lasers. At the same time, a large number of reliability tests are carried out on the lasers, and the institutions responsible for these test certifications are all authoritative institutions that have obtained the qualifications certified by CNAS and CAM of the state, which guarantees the reliability of the test results.
In the early reliability tests, there are a wide variety of test items, ranging from more than a dozen to dozens. Among them, common test items include ROSH hazardous substance test, high and low temperature test, insulation test, explosion-proof test, aging test, and so on. Here, I would like to give you a detailed explanation of the aging test of the pump source. The test conditions are quite stringent. The module needs to be placed in a high and low temperature chamber with a temperature range of 30°C to 50°C for a real-time test lasting 8,000 hours. Moreover, an acceleration aging test with a factor of 33.8 times is used to verify the stability of the module, which is equivalent to simulating a service life of 270,000 hours, approximately 30 years. Once it fails to pass the test, the researchers have to re-analyze the problem, solve it, and then invest in the research and development again. Major manufacturers are constantly moving forward on this path of continuous exploration and improvement.
It is precisely because of such comprehensive research, development, and testing in the early stage, with a large amount of reliable data as support, that major laser manufacturers today have the confidence to claim a lifespan of 10 years for their products. Currently, many high-quality laser brands have emerged in China, such as Caplincon, Maxphotonics, Raycus, and Fibermax. Of course, there are also other excellent brands, and due to space limitations, I won't list them all here.
With the unremitting efforts of domestic researchers and a large investment in research and experimental work, the packaging technology of domestic pump sources has become increasingly mature. This has not only broken the long-term monopoly of foreign laser technology but also led to a continuous decrease in the price of lasers in recent years, enabling more users to enjoy cost-effective products. "Made In China" represents Chinese quality. I firmly believe that with the efforts of all researchers, we will surely do better and better in the field of lasers, go global, and win more praise!
