Germany’s Fraunhofer ILT to Accelerate Global Expansion

In March 2024, Wuxi Nice Laser Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. announced a strategic partnership with Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT) to collaborate on ultrafast laser processing and digital transformation of smart equipment, advancing high-end laser technologies worldwide.

Under the agreement, Nice Laser will integrate German laser expertise with its automation strengths to develop next-gen picosecond laser cutting systems for micro-processing in electronics and medical devices. The two parties will also establish a “Sino-German Laser Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab” to focus on Industry 4.0 solutions.

Chairman of Nice Laser, said, “This partnership will significantly enhance our capabilities in precision micro-machining and support our global market growth.”

The first batch of co-developed equipment is expected to enter mass production by 2025, with simultaneous launches in European and Asian markets.
